President Duterte will choose his own government officials in his administration. He wants to pattern his Cabinet after the lineup of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, according to Duterte's spokeperson Peter Laviña.

As stated by President Rody:

"I hate 'yang tawagan. Ayaw ko 'yan kasi in all probability, hindi ka qualified"  

"Do not get any recommendations from anybody, I will decide on my own. After all, if anything goes wrong, it is the president who will answer or bear the burden”

“'Yung lahat except for secretary or undersecretary, I'll get it from the younger generations”

Here is the list of possible Cabinet Members of President Rody Duterte:

• Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano – Secretary of Justice/ Foreign Affairs
• Perfecto Yasay – Acting Secretary of Foreign Affairs
• Carlos “Sonny” Dominguez III– Department of Finance
• Arthur Tugade – Department of Transportation and Communications
• Dr. Peter Laurel (President, Lyceum of the Philippines University Batangas & Laguna)- Department of Education
• Jesus Dureza - Peace Process
• Salvador Panelo - Presidential Spokesperson
• Salvador "Bingbong" Medialdea - Executive Secretary
