What a big surprise for Batangueños, Miss Earth 2011: Miss Earth Philippines, Athena Mae Imperial and the rest of Miss Earth 2011 candidates will visit Batangas City, Philippines on November 28, 2011, Monday.

In line with this, November 28, 2011, Monday, the city mayor declared as a non-working holiday for all Batangas City schools, to honor and show the Batangueños hospitality to the delegates of Miss Earth 2011. Batangas City Mayor Vilma Abaya Dimacuha issued Executive Order No. 23 series of 2011, last November 23, 2011.


The City of Batangas was chosen to host the photo sessions and other environmental activities of the candidates for this year’s Miss Earth Pageant.

DECLARING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2011 AS A NON-WORKING HOLIDAY

WHEREAS, Batangas City has been privileged to be one of the Cities to be visited by some 50 candidates for the Miss Earth contest.

WHEREAS, on November 28, 2011, Batangas City will be the host to the aforesaid International Beauties who will come for photo sessions and other activities;

WHEREAS, the visit of the International Beauties to Batangas will not only give the City freepublicity all over the world but also boost the position of the City both as a tourist site and one of the most liveable cities in the world;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of Batangas City be given full opportunity to view and celebrate this rare event and show their natural hospitality to the honored guests of Batangas City;

NOW THEREFORE, I, VILMA ABAYA DIMACUHA, City Mayor, by virtue of the power vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, November 28, 2011 as a non-working holiday for schools, both public and private, in the City of Batangas.
